Heirloom Musical Creations was born out of a desire to share the magical and wonderful sound that can be produced from properly designed and constructed prime wood music boxes. We could talk about the pieces and parts of quality wood music boxes, and debate the fine points about music box construction, but in the end what really matters is purity of tone and full, rich sound from a finely constructed instrument that will provide enjoyment for generations to come. That's what we're all about.

The initiating spark for our enterprise was a visit to a music box shop in the Amish country of Lancaster, PA full of wood music boxes. There, for the first time, I heard what a quality music box sounded like. Never again after that experience would an off-pitch music box with only a few notes, which started rapidly and ended slowly, be satisfying. I found that I could purchase finely made music box movements, and I started experimenting with wooden chests to hold the movements, noting how different woods and box shapes affected the sound.

What was a hobby became a family owned business in the Texas Hill Country town of Dripping Springs focused on only one objective - making the best custom music boxes that we can make. Our wood music boxes are not inexpensive, but quality never is. Only the best goes into our products. Each of our custom music boxes is carefully hand finished to provide a lifetime of enjoyment, and each is signed and dated.
